Remember that old motto, "the fabric of our lives?" They were talking about cotton! And with summer officially here, cotton is a terrific choice for tank tops, children’s sundresses, and light-weight shoulder coverings, like lacy shawls, ponchos, and cardigans.
For a peak at all the cotton yarns we carry, take a look at these collections: 100% Cotton and Cotton Blends.
Two of our favorite cottons are Jo Sharp's Soho Summer DK Cotton and Desert Garden Aran Cotton.
The Undergrowth Top (featured image), designed by Moon Eldridge and included in the current issue of Interweave Knits, Summer 2020, was inspired by the shape of lantana flowers. Visit Ravelry or Interweave's own website for full details.
For kids, we adore Katia Fair Cotton Craft, a 100% organic cotton that is as soft as soft can be. Katia's darling Just One Cake Baby Blanket pattern comes free with every purchase!
Finally, if you're looking for a variegated yarn, we can't resist Noro's Mirai. It's a lovely DK weight yarn consisting of 40% Cotton, 25% Silk, 25% Viscose, 10% Polyamide. The Texas Rains Shawlette (pictured below right) is a FREE pattern from Ariane Gallizzi.
The wonderfully textured Bottone by Lana Grossa (pictured below) lends just the right amount of exfoliation power to delightful crocheted scrubbies.
These adorable (yet practical) crocheted rounds are Reusable Cotton Facial Scrubbies (FREE pattern by Ashley Ludlow). You could put them in the guest bathroom or give them as a gift! How cute!! Crocheted in Lana Grossa's Bottone, they're an eco-friendly, reusable alternative to one-use cotton pads. (Thank you Ravelry user peaknitaround for the amazing photos.)
